Ultrasound Technologist vs Technician… Learning About Sonography as a Career Choice

While ultrasound is a highly specialized imaging modality in healthcare, there are absolutely incredible sonographers who do not have a college degree but are credentialed in their field and specialty. But are they sonographers? Are they ultrasound techs? Is that the same? And how do civilians or people who are not in healthcare, learn about this occupation?

Right in time to celebrate President Joe Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan, this week’s tea in sonography features one degree career tea.

Their mission is to bring as much awareness about occupations that offer a great career path without the need of a college degree and you know we LOVE spilling all the tea in sonography, including understanding the difference between #ultrasoundtechnicians, #technologists, techs, and sonographers! Whaaaaa.

We’re following up on an incredible convo where we learn about Ultrasound as a career choice. But who is searching for this and how? It’s all about the SEO here and understanding that even teaching the google what a sonographer is, is important in understanding what an ultrasonographer does and why getting their name, credential, and occupation correct is essential toward really understanding this occupation as a career choice.

Learn more on this week’s episode of sonographers spill the tea and please continue to participate in Safety in Sonography by sharing your thoughts, feedback, and stories with us!
