Is becoming an ultrasound technologist worth the risk of WMSD?! | Ergonomics, travel, + more!
Here, we adventure to the channel of an Ultrasound Technologist by the name of Geselle. She describes herself as a “Disney-loving general Sonographer who has experience working in multiple outpatient facilities, doctors offices, and hospitals.” Her channel is FULLLL of information regarding the ins and outs of being a Sonographer. Of course she delivers her expertise when answering the question of “is becoming an Ultrasound Technologist worth the risk of WMSD (work musculoskeletal disorders).”
In the video, it’s instilled in the viewers that Soft Tissue Recovery IS NOT a Sonographer specific issue, it affects us all! Participating in daily stretches, visits to the chiropractor/massage therapist like Deanna Gutierrez, as well as paying close attention to your health is something we ALL need to incorporate into our daily routines to optimize our bodies and their functions. Even though, Sonographers are experiencing Soft Tissue Injuries at a rate of 90%, ANY kind of repetitive motion being done for a long period of time without #STR will result in injury.
